GMI
Under the umbrella of Pakistan Army, FWO launch laudable environmental
move by planting trees along its assigned motorways under the title of, “Green |
Motorway Initiative (GMI)” in 2019 to transform the belts along motorways to
green belts. The idea was conceived to address the environmental degradation
through increasing transport systems and developing industrial economic zone
along motorways, FWO’s GMI was first and unique project of country which
demonstrates the efforts of FWO.
MORE play an active role in plantation of 600,000 trees along M-2 in GMI
program.
Motivated and skilled resources are dedicated for nurturing the species of plants.
GMI has modified the degrading challenges of the environment.

Its beneficial results have been emerging since its inception and
emission of greenhouse gasses would reduce to acceptable level.
This will also bring availability of timber in future and growth of wild life.
