Motorway M-2 is close loop, having two (2) Main Toll Plazas and twenty (20) Interchange Toll Plazas. Tolling is a round the clock operation. Concession Agreement signed between NHA and MORE defines tolls rates and structure which is levied by MORE at the toll plazas to the vehicular traffic liable to pay toll for usage of Motorway M-2. Toll is based on the distance travelled by the commuter and the per kilometer toll rate defined in the Concession Agreement. Annual toll rates are notified by NHA through official gazette under the provisions of the NHA Act. Toll rates are charged based on the vehicle category. As per Concession Agreement, vehicles are categorized into six (6) different categories i.e. F1 (Car / Jeep / Taxis), F2 (Wagons), F3 (Buses), F4 (2 – Axle Trucks), F5 (3 – Axle Trucks) and F6 (Articulated Trucks). 

In order to make tolling operations transparent, smooth and efficient, MORE has installed state of the art Electronic Toll and Traffic Management (ETTM) system alongwith Automatic Vehicle Counting (AVC) system at each toll booth of Motorway M-2 toll plazas. AVC system automatically detects the category of vehicle and applies toll rate in the ETTM system.

Each toll lane at M-2 toll plazas is M-Tag enabled. However, for the convenience of commuters, toll lanes at main toll plazas have been divided into M-Tag Express Lanes, M-Tag Low Balance Lanes and M-Tag Cash Lanes. Furthermore, MORE has adopted following measures to facilitate commuters for M-Tag recharge and registration. Details are as follows:
